Local Products Cuisine (Part I): Mediterranean Salad with fruits contrast, kipper and Kalamata olives

This morning we went for a short excursion to Malgrat de Mar's local market with our chef Juan Sánchez, to investigate which local products could we find to prepare some delicious dishes based on the local cuisine. When you enter to the market you can feel the small town atmosphere, with the fresh products and the close and friendly treatment between the shopkeepers and their clients. They all know each other's first name and are welcomed with a smile, followed by some words about asking how the family is doing and the last news in the town. After having a look, we head to the store of Fem Salat ("We Make Salty" in Catalan), where they sell codfish, legumes, different kinds of olives, and some home-made specialties. It's owner, Quim, kindly explains us what are the different types of products that they have, and lets us have a small taste of the products that our chef finds interesting. With our bags full of fresh ingredients, we head back to Sumus Hotel Monteplaya's kitchen to prepare some exclusive and easy-to-do recipes for you at home!

2 tomatoes 1 cucumber 1 mango 1/2 red onion 6-8 strawberries 2 kippers 1 lime kalamata olives sesame oil olive oil arugula (for decoration) strawberry spawns (for decoration)
